Tips
- Text is wrapped using the real font metrics, so lines break where they actually would rather than at a guessed character count.
- Only the standard PDF fonts are used — Helvetica, Times and Courier — which means no font file is embedded and the file stays tiny.
- Characters outside Western European ranges cannot be represented without embedding a font, and appear as "?". For other scripts, use a word processor.
- Blank lines in your text are preserved as blank lines in the output.
Frequently asked questions
Why do accented characters work but not Chinese or Arabic?
The standard PDF fonts cover WinAnsi encoding, which includes Western European accents. Other scripts need an embedded font with those glyphs, and embedding a CJK font would add several megabytes to every page of this site.
