Cookie Policy

Nothing is set until you say yes

1234Tools uses no advertising cookies and sells nothing to anyone. It does ask, once, whether you will allow analytics cookies so we can see which pages people actually use. Until you answer, no analytics script is loaded, no cookie is written and no request is made to any analytics provider — declining is a real decline, not a dismissed banner.

None of this touches your files. Every tool on this site runs inside your browser, and that does not change either way. Analytics records which page was visited, not what you typed into it or what you produced.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, that is treated as a decline and you are never asked.

Local storage (not a cookie, but similar)

These are set regardless of your analytics choice. They are strictly necessary or purely a preference, never transmitted, and readable only by this site.

  • Theme preference — remembers whether you chose light, dark or system theme.
  • Your cookie choice — remembers whether you allowed analytics, so you are not asked on every page.
  • Recently used tools — the names of the last six tools you opened, so the homepage can offer them back. Only the tool names, never anything you typed into them, and it is read only by your own browser to draw that list.
  • Currency rates — the daily reference rates the converter last loaded, so it still works offline. Rates come from this site, not from a third party.
  • Offline cache (service worker) — if your browser supports it, visited tool pages and site assets are cached on your device so they keep working without a connection. This is standard browser storage, not a tracking mechanism, and you can clear it any time via your browser's site data settings.

Analytics cookies, set only if you allow them

  • Google Analytics 4_ga and _ga_<id>, which distinguish one visitor from another so a repeat visit is not counted twice. Typically expire after two years. Advertising and personalisation signals are switched off, and IP addresses are anonymised. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Microsoft Clarity_clck and _clsk, used to group a visit into a session and produce heatmaps. Clarity also replays how a page was used. Every form field, result panel and generated document on this site is masked before it is recorded, so what you type into an invoice, a payslip calculator or a certificate is never captured. Microsoft's privacy statement applies.
  • GitHub Pages — our hosting provider may process technical request data as described in GitHub's privacy statement. This is not a cookie and applies to any request for any page.

Typefaces are served from this site, not from Google Fonts, so loading a page makes no request to a third party at all until you have opted in.

Changing your mind

You can withdraw or give consent at any time, and it takes effect immediately.

Current choice: not set.

You can also clear local storage and cached files from your browser's settings (usually under "Site settings" or "Privacy"). Doing so resets your theme and cookie choices and removes the offline cache — nothing is lost, since no account exists to lose.
